If you've read book 1, Split by the Mercs, I would say this story is on par with that one in terms of darkness. There is a scene that involves non-con touching by a bad guy, but it stops short of actual intercourse, and it involves some satisfying instant karma. The story is not intended to represent a normal, healthy IRL relationship. It is a dark fantasy.
